Following demolition, the site levels were substantially altered. This was not only to create the site for the house but also a lower level basement, a garage, and a level garden with a swimming pool. All the benefits of a chalky soil, including good drainage, stability, and compactness, were utilised during the process. Powder coated aluminium windows, through colour acrylic render and a zinc roof all help to protect the dwelling in its elevated south facing position.
The property incorporates a separate annexe with a lift through three floors, for an elderly relative.
THE ENQUIRY
- Jackie Quinn and Co, a top local Estate Agent put Jaques Construction in touch with the client.
THE BRIEF
To demolish and remove a tired bungalow and erect a stunning, energy efficient contemporary home.
COSTING AND PLANNING
Once the cost proposal had been agreed; we entered discussions with the Client, MBP Architects and an Energy Consultant to agree the specification details. Our full range of flexibility was required in order to satisfy the local planning authority.
“ I would recommend David and his team to anyone undertaking a building project and would be happy to talk to anyone on the phone and allow a visit to the house….”
