TRADITIONAL
Farm Cottage
Prior to demolition of the existing dwelling, an oak framed garage with a bat roost was constructed to mitigate the ecology requirements.
A specific drainage design was developed due to the location and the run-off from local fields. An extensive soak away system was needed under the new driveway.
Relocation of all new incoming services was undertaken. Three phase power was installed and overhead services were refitted under the driveway. This meant unsightly poles could be removed and the previous regular power cuts, due low level trees, could be avoided. An Air Source Heat Pump was installed.
We engaged with a local structural engineer to design a cut and pitched roof structure to offer better value.
A small number of interesting details were reinstated such as the feature fireplace.
High quality natural materials were used externally to offer a soft appearance. Silicon based Stow render was selected over traditional sand and cement for longevity and low maintenance.
“We are delighted we chose Jaques to build our new home. The project involved demolishing our old house and building a new 4-bedroom detached house and oak framed garage.
From the outset they produced a detailed schedule of completion dates for each section of work, this, together with our regular meetings meant that our house was completed on time.
Jaques have an excellent team that are both professional and easy to work with, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. When required, they used local sub-contractors that they know and have been working with for many years. Our project involved relocating our power supply and telephone cables underground, the installation a treatment plant and air-source heat pump.
Jaques were always happy to oblige and make our project an enjoyable experience. The quality of the work was such that very little remedial work had to be done when they revisited us for the final sign off.
We would not hesitate to recommend this company. ”
